How do I refer myself?

Referring yourself or someone you know is not complicated. You can either drop in to the office, email, fax or phone. We will ask question to gather some basic information for our records. All information you give is confidential and only shared with your consent with other professional people. The questions we ask you are about the brain/head injury you have received. This helps us to gather a picture of what your needs and requirements might be.

What happens next?

Our Community Support Worker in your area will get in touch and will arrange a home, hospital or office visit to you and/or family members at your convenience, where a more in depth conversation will provide you with an opportunity to share whatever information, feelings and concerns you may have.

What are the benefits?

Brain/head injury can affect how people think, deal with information, plan activities, concentrate and remember things. Headway aims to provide support through activities and outings as well as helping with day-to-day problems. The Community Support Worker will identify areas that you may require some assistance with eg benefits, referrals to other services etc, we also look at the longer term and aim to assist wherever appropriate.
