  About Us

Headway Ayrshire is here to offer support, information and services whether it be short term, long term or just whenever you need it. Headway Ayrshire's trained staff and volunteers work together to improve knowledge and understanding of brain/head injury. We aim to raise awareness and to actively campaign for better services for brain/head injured people.

You, a relative or a friend may have been diagnosed with a brain/head injury but have never heard of it until now. This can be a worrying and confusing time for everyone.

You may feel relief that you have a name for your condition or symptoms. You probably have lots of questions you would like answered. You may feel a mixture of emotions, which is natural, and you may be looking for support. By reading this information, you are taking a positive step in learning about brain/head injury and looking after yourself, a relative or friend.

There is no need to make an appointment to see us - just telephone or drop in to the office as needed. We operate a 24-hour answering service for those people who need our help or assistance out of normal hours. Our centre in Ayr is a drop- in facility and we look forward to seeing you.

The service is free of charge and fully available to anyone suffering from the effects of brain/head injury.
